About you

If you thrive in a dynamic team environment and want to be part of one of the world’s top ten tyre manufacturers, this is the position for you. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, you will be highly self motivated; a team player who can add value, with an excellent work ethic.

What you will be doing:

  • Set and agree pricing strategies when negotiating the core commodity demands
  • Make tactical decisions on fixing raw material prices depending on market factors (hedge or spot purchasing)
  • Become lead contact for designated commodity groups and be seen within the organisation as the commodity expert
  • Responsible for the overall total cost of acquisition for the designated commodity group
  • Work in conjunction with technical to identify and develop new opportunities to increase supply options and reduce costs
  • Achieve annual cost reduction targets
  • Monitor cost level trends and ensure Cooper’s obtain VFM
  • Monitor and drive annual supplier performance improvement targets
  • Rationalize supply base in accordance with Cooper’s purchasing strategy
  • Manage cost increases and market movement appropriately ensuring impact is minimized
  • Lead projects cross functionally and identify projects and opportunities that help meet the company objectives and/or improve procurement efficiency
  • Overall management of the commodity suppliers, managing all aspects of that supply base and performance 
  • Ensuring regular supplier reviews are carried out and continuous improvement of the key KPIs
